102: Streamlined Review of Performance-based Projects

This 2-hour training is designed for building officials, beyond-code program administrators, and others responsible for reviewing energy modeling submittals for performance-based compliance under the New York State Energy Code. It is also relevant to energy modelers seeking to strengthen internal quality control and better understand how performance-based submittals are reviewed.

The course introduces a practical, prioritized approach to reviewing performance-based projects. The primary focus is on the ASHRAE 90.1-2022 Section 12 and Appendix G compliance paths and how the Compliance Form, Performance-Based Compliance Review Manual, and New York State Companion Tool can be used together to support an efficient and consistent review process. The course also briefly addresses the NYSECC Section C407 Simulated Building Performance path, including required and recommended submittal documentation and a practical approach to reviewing C407 projects where equivalent standardized review tools are not available.
